The 17-year-old met with a fatal car accident on a fateful Thursday evening, leaving family, friends, and the entire community in mourning. As we come together to remember Ace’s life, we reflect on the tragic circumstances that took him away from us too soon.

On that ill-fated evening, the Toledo Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol initiated an investigation into a single-car crash that unfolded in Springfield Township. At around 8:10 PM, tragedy struck near the intersection of Dorr Street and North Crissey Road.

The vehicle involved was a silver Lincoln MKS carrying three adolescents, and the consequences were devastating. Ace Cuellar, the 17-year-old behind the wheel, bore the brunt of the impact, sustaining injuries deemed life-threatening. Rushed to the hospital, the young driver fought bravely against the odds, but the severity of the injuries proved insurmountable.

Alongside Ace, a 16-year-old passenger in the back of the vehicle also suffered significant injuries, adding to the somberness of the incident. The Oregon State Highway Patrol’s preliminary reports indicate that the tragic accident unfolded when the silver Lincoln MKS, traveling north on North Crissey Road, failed to stop at a crucial stop sign.

This lapse in judgment led to a loss of control at a curve, culminating in a collision with a tree situated off the side of the roadway. The community of Rossford and beyond finds itself in deep sorrow as it grapples with the loss of a vibrant and promising young individual. Ace Cuellar’s potential was extinguished in an instant, leaving a void that can never be adequately filled.
