Coast Road Accident: 1 Killed 3 Hurt In Multi-car Crash On A1058 Major Road Newcastle Tyne – BRB NEWS

In a terrifying incident on the A1058 Coast Road in Newcastle upon Tyne, a multi-car collision claimed the life of one person and left three others seriously injured.

The fatal crash occurred on the eastbound stretch of Coast Road, between Battle Hill Drive and Station Road. Northumbria Police are currently investigating a fatal multi-vehicle collision.

Following the accident, there were severe delays on the A1058 Coast Road. Service routes 309/310/311 are unable to stop services at Station Road to Benfield Road due to the incident. Traffic is backed up on both sides of the Cradlewell bypass between Heaton and Jesmond, leading to long delays for motorists entering Newcastle upon Tyne.

Details about the victims have not yet been released. However, the severity of the injuries suffered by the three survivors has raised concerns.

This is not the first accident to occur on the A1058 coastal road. Earlier this year, a 14-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries after a collision involving an electric scooter on the eastbound slipway of the A1058 Coast Road.

There are currently concerns about the condition of the A1058 Coast Road. A recent inspection revealed corroded road barriers, causing the speed limit to be temporarily reduced from 70 mph to 50 mph.
