A shocking murder-suicide has shook the Daytona Beach neighborhood, claiming two lives. The unspecified date of the occurrence has left many terribly grieved and searching for answers.

Officers were rushed to the 1400 block area in response to allegations of shooting, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department. When they arrived, they discovered the dead bodies of a married couple named Shawntai Adkins and Shantell Adkins.

The shooting is thought to have occurred during an argument between the couple. Shawntai Adkins unfortunately died in the incident, but Shantell Adkins survived but later turned the weapon on himself in an attempt suicide.

This is not the first murder-suicide that has occurred in Daytona Beach. Similar catastrophes have occurred in the past, including incidents involving terminally ill patients. One such case featured a 76-year-old widow called Ellen Gilland, who allegedly shot her terminally sick husband before attempting to commit herself.
