James Duke Obituary, Death – The Longford community mourns the loss of a cherished soul, James (Jack) Duke of Grian Ard, Longford Town, whose passing has touched the hearts of many in the region and beyond. The Longford Eye extends its deepest sympathies to the family and friends of James during this difficult time. James, fondly known as Jack, has left an indelible mark on the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

His warm and affable nature endeared him to all who crossed his path, leaving an impression of kindness and warmth. Preceded in death by his parents, James is remembered fondly and will be deeply missed by his family: daughters Rosie, Kathlena, and Gloria, sons Leo, and Kevin, partner Marie, sister Pauline, brother Bernard, nieces, nephews, relatives, and a wide circle of friends. His presence touched many lives, and his memory will forever be cherished.

The community is invited to pay their respects and offer condolences at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road, on Thursday (28th December) from 4.30 pm until 5.30 pm, followed by removal to St. Mel’s Cathedral for prayers at 6.00 pm. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Friday (29th December) at 11.00 am, followed by interment in Ballymacormack Cemetery. As James (Jack) Duke bids farewell, the community joins in honoring his life and the impact he made on those around him. May his soul rest in peace as his memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
