BIOGRAPHY
James Paul Marsden was born on September 18, 1973, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. His parents divorced when he was nine years old, and he grew up with his four siblings. During his teenage years, he attended Putnam City North High School and later entered Oklahoma State University where he studied broadcast journalism and discovered that he wanted to be an actor. He later moved to Los Angeles interested in starting his acting career. He got his first job in the pilot episode of The Babysitter (1993), later he participated in Boogies Diner (1994) and Five Family (1994). His first big break came in Second Noah (1996), later he participated in Disturbed Behavior (1998) and Ally McBeal (1997).

One of his most remembered roles is that of Cyclops in the X-Men film franchise (2000).
He participated in films such as Superman Returns (2006), Enchanted: The Giselle Story (2007), 27 Dresses (2008). He had two children with actress Lisa Linde whom he divorced in 2011. He later had another child with model Rose Costa.
