John Kushion Obituary, Death – on Friday, December 22, 2023, he passed away calmly and serenely at home with his family at his side. John Kushion was born in St. Charles on December 22nd, 1926. His parents were John and Mary Kushion. After receiving his diploma from St. Charles High School, he enlisted in the Army Air Force in the year 1948. The wartime service of John was spent in Germany. After the war, he spent the next quarter of a century working for the Michigan State Police. John wed Bonnie Jean Royal in 1950, and they remained married until her passing in 1994. His marriage to Donna Hinderleider took place in 1997.

He is survived by his children, Keith (and his wife Diana), Mary, and Lisa (and her husband Kevin). His stepchildren Alan (Lori) and Robert (Sue), as well as his wife Donna, eleven grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren, are all members of his family. His mother and father, as well as his brothers Frank, Edward, Alex, and Walter, and his sister Stella, all passed away before him. His daughter Sue Ann Gay and his first wife Bonnie Jean were his children.
Funeral services will be placed at the Masonic Pathways Doig Chapel in Alma on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at eleven o’clock in the morning. Pastor Steve Swem will preside over the ceremony. The subsequent event will take place at the Riverside Cemetery in Alma. From nine in the morning until the time of the funeral on Wednesday, there will be a visitation held in the Doig Chapel.
