Obituaries in Hanover, PA | Evening Sun

G. Ronald Albright, 81, died peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2023, at UPMC Hanover Hospital. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Bonita L. “Bonnie” (Mummert) Albright, who left this earth on March 12, 2015.

Ron’s life can best be summed up with a quote from his lifelong idol, Jimmy Buffet:

“Life is a journey that’s not measured in miles or years, but in experiences.”

Born on January 25, 1942, in Carlisle, PA, Ron was the son of the late George H. And Jean A. (Wolfe) Albright. He was a lifelong member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Hanover, where he always enjoyed serving on various committees. He was also a dedicated member of the Hanover Elks Lodge. Ron was a 1959 graduate of Hanover High School and attended York College, but his best education came from being a long-standing member of the Hanover Area Parrot Head Society. As the 3rd generation owner of Hanover Concrete Co., Ron was its President for over 35 years. He especially enjoyed restoring a Civil War farmhouse with Bonnie; working outdoors; carving wooden duck decoys; attending Penn State football games; relaxing in Cape May, NJ, and of course, all things Jimmy Buffet. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved grandchildren who were the light of his life.

Ron is survived by his devoted son, David R. Albright and his wife, Heather M. Albright of Hanover and devoted daughter, Michelle Albright Schultz of Philadelphia. He was a loving Pa-Pa to his four grandchildren, Zachary M. Albright, Carson D. Albright, Sophia A. Schultz, and Ella G. Schultz. He is also survived by a sister, Charlotte Wilt of Hanover, a nephew, Timothy Wilt and his wife, Karen Wilt of Hanover, as well as his companion, Mary Hare of Hanover and his extended family and many friends.

A service to celebrate Ron’s life will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 10:00 AM, at Trinity United Church of Christ, 116 York Street, Hanover, with Rev. Kenneth Heasley officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Feiser Funeral Home, Inc., 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ. Memories may be shared at
