Brother of the actress and director Géraldine Nakache, Olivier Nakache is a French film director, actor and screenwriter. In 1995 he filmed his first short film together with Éric Toledano, with whom he has collaborated regularly since then. The first feature film they made together was the comedy-drama Let’s Be Friends (2005) starring Jean-Paul Rouve and Gérard Depardieu. Nakache and Toledano gained international recognition and popularity by directing the drama Friends (2011), starring Omar Sy and François Cluzet, which became one of the biggest box office hits in the history of French cinema and for which they were nominated for several awards, including three Cesar Awards. They collaborated several times with actor Omar Sy, most recently with the 2014 film Samba . They will soon release their new film The Specials (2019), starring Vincent Cassel and Reda Kate.
