Penn State Car Accident: Student hospitalized after Friday car-pedestrian collision on Penn State’s University Park campus.

According to an email from a Penn State police spokeswoman, a pedestrian was hurt on Friday on the University Park campus after being struck by a car.

According to spokesperson Jackie Sheader, the pedestrian—whom the police could not identify was struck on Friday at around 2:00 p.m. close to the intersection of Curtin and Bigler roads. The victim was sent to the medical facility at Mount Nittany.

The type of the pedestrian’s injuries and if the motorist was hurt were not disclosed by the police. The department refused to comment on the cause of the collision, the make and model of the car, or if they thought that drugs, alcohol, speeding, or exhaustion had played a role.

There’s an investigation going on. While firefighters were on the site, Curtin Road between University Drive and Bigler Road was closed for approximately one hour.

The Alpha Fire Company and the Centre County Accident Reconstruction Team provided assistance.
