Phil Lord along with Christopher Miller form a duo of producers, writers and directors who have been executive directors and writers of several television programs and series such as Clone High , How I met your mother , Brooklyn Nine-Nine , Last man on Earth , among others. Of the latter they were also directors of two episodes, one of which earned them an Emmy nomination. Lord and Miller made their debut as directors and screenwriters on the big screen with the animated film Cloudy with a Chance of Hamburgers (2009). They later moved into the action-comedy genre with their next film: Special Command (2012) and its sequel Special Command 2 (2014), starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. After a brief break from fiction, they returned to animation with Lego’s Big Adventure (2014), with which they received great recognition from critics and earned nominations for best animated film at the BAFTA and Golden Globes awards. Both wrote the script for the second part of this film, as well as the new animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018).
