In a tragic turn of events, Preble County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Joshua Hamilton lost his life in a fatal vehicle accident. The crash happened on Ohio Highway 503 around 4 a.m. This unexpected and unfortunate incident left a profound impact on the community he served.


Traveling south, Deputy Hamilton collided head-on with another vehicle. Although he was taken to the Kettering Preble emergency room in Eaton, he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the second vehicle, identified as Michael Gayhart II, also died in the crash.
