Skylee Kerbs, a South Jordan Middle School student, died, according to heartbreaking news spread on local social media channels.
Skylee’s terrible death appears to have been by suicide, throwing a shadow of sorrow over the community, which was already grieving the loss of Skylee’s grandfather, Benjamin “Ben” Ward Kerbs, who tragically died on October 26, 2023, following a drowning accident.
Skylee’s death remains unconfirmed by the family in the aftermath of Ben Kerbs’ memorial service on Friday, November 17, 2023. As the prospect of losing a classmate looms, this painful situation emphasizes the crucial need of standing by one another during such tough times.
The community is at a crossroads, ready to offer support while waiting for official confirmation and details about this sad catastrophe.
Ben Kerbs attended Jordan High School before going on to become the owner of Any and All Towing and Power Sports.
Ben’s complex personality was obvious in his varied interests, which ranged from fishing, kayaking, skiing, and flying airplanes to pickleball, mountain biking, tennis, surfing, boating, spearfishing, free diving, skydiving, playing the piano, and singing. His zest for life transferred into a thirst for experience in all forms.
Ben found enormous peace in his relationship with Christ as a fervent member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
His church community became an important part of his life, and he formed some of his most beloved connections there.
