Sofía Gómez Córdova is a Mexican director, editor and screenwriter, born in Aguascalientes, Mexico. She studied a degree in Audiovisual Arts, in the Department of Image and Sound at the University of Guadalajara, where years later she would be part of the teaching team. Sofía has dedicated herself mainly to editing, in which she began to work more frequently at the beginning of the new millennium, as an editor on various recognized short films, including Memoria viva (2006), Luces negra (2009), I look so much like you (2011) and many more. On the other hand, Sofía has also ventured into the seventh art as a director and has directed several short films Dia de campo (2010), La ciudad de las draweras (2014) and The last battle against the damned pigeons (2014), are some of them . Finally, Gómez Cordova debuted in feature films with the celebrated film Los Años Azules (2017), which she wrote and edited herself. The film tells the story of several friends living in the same apartment with a curious cat.
