The Atlanta community is mourning the loss of Will Shields, a husband, father, and National Sales Manager at Effectv. Will passed away suddenly at the age of 51.

A lifelong resident of Atlanta, Will graduated from North Springs High School before earning a bachelor’s degree in consumer journalism from the University of Georgia.

He has built a successful career in media sales for more than 25 years. Will has worked with prominent companies such as iHeart Media, Comcast, and ClearChannel. At the time of his death, he held the position of National Sales Manager at Effectv.

While successful in his career, Will never lost sight of the importance of family and community.

He met his wife Susan 25 years ago and they raised two beloved children, Margot and Brody. Will is also a 20-year member of Temple Beth Tikvah, serving on the board of directors and leading their Backpack Buddies program.

Friends describe Will as someone who understands the value of relationships. His kindness, humility and loyalty impacted everyone he met.

“He was the first to toast and joke, a diligent host and a master griller,” a friend wrote. “His humility, loyalty to friends and family and his unwavering kindness to all will be strongly felt and are cherished memories of him.”

With that unwavering spirit of compassion, Will made the decision in his final days to donate some of his organs. This incredible gesture gave the gift of life to those in need.

According to his loved ones, this decision reflects Will’s generous and compassionate nature – always thinking of ways he can give back to others.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 11 at Arlington Memorial Park.

Although Will left this world too soon, his legacy of selflessness and commitment to community will live on through all those he inspired with his life and character. me. May his memory be a blessing.
